What Must I Do To Be Saved?

What is required of us to gain salvation and inherit everlasting life?

As Christians, we believe the answer lies in the words and teachings of the God of Israel and his Son Yeshua (Jesus), which have been recorded for us in the book known as the “Bible”, for thousands of years.

According to the Bible, the highest and foremost command is to believe in the existence of, have faith (trust) in, love and obey the One True God, the Father and Creator of all things, who’s name is YHWH (pronounced as Yah, Yahu, or Yahweh), and to worship no other gods (Mark 12:29-30, Psalms 83:18, Isaiah 44:8).

In turn, God instructs us that to be saved we must have belief and faith that Yeshua (Jesus) is his son, the foretold “Anointed One” (the Messiah, the Christ) (Luke 9:35, John 1:41). Who came to Earth to die for our sins as a sacrifice in our place (1 Corinthians 15:3-4, 20-22). And that he was raised from the dead, to be then appointed by God to be our Lord, High Priest and Heavenly King to whom we submit and obey (Hebrews 4:14, 1 Timothy 2:5, Luke 1:32-33, John 5:23-24).

God’s son Yeshua, in turn, gave us specific instructions to follow, which also includes following the instructions he passed on to his chosen Disciples of the first century A.D (the Apostles), of whom wrote the holy scriptures which make up the books and letters of the New Testament Bible (Mark 10:17, 19-21, John 5:23-24,28-29, Luke 10:1,16).

These instructions can be broken down into three sections: Our worship, our treatment of others and our own inner personality.

In our Worship

  • To recognise YHWH as the only true God and Father of all.
  • To recognise Yeshua as the Son of God, and as our Heavenly Lord & King.
  • To recognise Yeshua died in our place for our sins, and that his sacrifice is the means of our eternal salvation
  • To recognise that our own righteous works (good deeds) do not save us from the death handed down to us by the sin of Adam (the first man).
  • To be baptised in the name of Yeshua/the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • To recognise Yeshua is the only Mediator between God and Mankind.
  • To always and only pray to the True God, and in the name of Yeshua the Anointed.
  • To confess and repent of sins we commit, in the name of Yeshua the Anointed, and through faith in his atoning ransom sacrifice.
  • To always partake of the Lord’s Evening Meal.
  • To be thankful to God for our blessings (e.g; provisions, food, life, His mercy, etc).
  • To do our best to freely preach, promote or tell others the salvation message of Yeshua and the “Good News” of God’s Kingdom.
  • To baptise those receptive and willing of Yeshua’s message to become Christian disciples.
  • To congregate and share worship with other Christians where possible.
  • To not perform repetitive, rote, ritualised or formulaic prayers.
  • To not use God’s name in vain, to not swear upon the name God, or upon any other name.
  • To not practice idolatry (using, praying with, bowing to, or kissing idols, statues, pictures, crosses, etc).
  • To not worship or pray to any Heavenly beings besides God.
  • To not worship creation (ie; people, animals, nature, stars, planets, etc).
  • To not teach, enforce, or practice a doctrine not given by YHWH, Yeshua, the inspired Apostles or anything else not found in the holy scriptures.
  • To not partake in any other religions or adopt any of their practices.
  • That families respect the arrangements of spiritual family headship in respects to husbands and fathers being responsible for teaching and encouraging their family in the teachings of Yeshua, in the manner congregational elders teach, shepherd and encourage the Congregation.

In our treatment of Others

  • To love our neighbours and our enemies as ourselves.
  • To have love, honour and mutual respect for our family (parents, children, marriage mate, etc).
  • To materially provide for our families to the best of our ability.
  • To love and respect our Christian brothers and sisters.
  • To not be unjustly partial or unfair in our treatment of others (i.e; racism, sexism, classism, homophobia, etc).
  • To not judge or condemn others.
  • To freely forgive a repenting person who has sinned against us (i.e; offended, insulted, hurt, etc).
  • To not take personal revenge upon ourselves, but to leave vengeance to God.
  • To try and be peaceable with all and avoid unnecessary arguments or fights.
  • To not assault or murder another human.
  • To not steal from others.
  • To not cheat, swindle or extort others.
  • To not stumble or damage another person’s faith in God or Yeshua.

In Ourselves

  • To practice patience.
  • To practice being charitable.
  • To practice humility.
  • To avoid arrogance and haughtiness.
  • To not be hypocritical.
  • To detest violence.
  • To avoid drunkenness or an otherwise unsober mind (i.e; abusing alcohol, drugs or other substances that would impair one’s soberness or self control).
  • To avoid love or obsession with money, riches or material gain.
  • To not lie, but be truthful in all things.
  • To not be jealous or envious of others.
  • To not covet (wrongly desire or lust for) another person’s property.
  • To not covet another person’s spouse or partner.
  • To not commit fornication or adultery (sexual contact or sex with a person one is not married to).
  • To not practice homosexuality (same sex relationships, a man with a man, or a woman with a woman).
  • To not practice sexual uncleanness or brazenness (i.e; sexual orgies, public indecency, obscenities, bestiality, child molestation, unclean speech, sexually immodest dress or sexual jesting with persons one is not married to).
  • To not practice polygamy (being married to more than one person at once).
  • To only marry another Christian believer (exception is given to Christians who were already married to unbelievers before they themselves became believers).
  • To not divorce (with exception to a partner committing adultery or dying, which frees the spouse for remarriage to another person).
  • To be wary not to be negatively influenced by our associations with non-Christians or unbelievers, and to not compromise our faith to fit in or please unbelieving friends, family or acquaintances.
  • To be no part of the secular world’s politcal wars
  • To not swear allegiance to, support, or vote for leaders, governments or parties that actively promote anti or unchristian laws or values.
  • To respect and obey the secular laws and leaders of the worldly nations (with exception to laws that require a Christian to disobey the laws of God).
  • To not consume (eat or drink) blood.
  • To not eat meat from a strangled (or unbled) animal.
  • To not practice or indulge in spiritism (i.e; magic, witchcraft, fortune telling, contacting the “dead”, superstition, demonism, Satanism).
  • To do our utmost to not sin and live morally clean lives.

All of these laws given to us by God, through his Son Yeshua and the Apostles, fall under the “first greatest command”, the love of God and obedience to Him with our whole heart, soul and mind. These are the “works of faith” which accompanies our faith in God and Yeshua’s ransom. When we have faith, we thus become Yeshua’s disciples and follow his teachings.

The second greatest command according to Yeshua is “love of neighbour”, of which is the foundation of all things (Mark 12:31, 1 John 4:8-16) and is embedded in the majority of the above listed tenets.

It’s important to understand that such commandments are not merely just a “list of dos and do nots”, but are in fact a naturalistic result of an authentic heart condition (Matthew 12:34-35, Galatians 5:22-23, Ephesians 4:21-24). And thus, being transformed by God’s spirit, is not just a case of legalism, for if it was, many of the Jews of the 1st century would have been pleasing to God in their ‘technical’ obedience to the Law (Matthew 5:27-28, 23:23-28, Romans 2:23-29).

The commands of our God and Father Yah are based in true love, in that He instructs us to follow them to attain everlasting life, and to benefit ourselves, and others. In following both the law and love of God, we better ourselves as individuals, showing unconditional love to others. Not just to “get in God’s good books”, but because we, like Yeshua, “want to” (Luke 5:12-13, John 10:18).

If we treat others with anger, bitterness, aggression, superiority or judgement, even if whilst preaching the commands or warnings of God and his Son Yeshua, then we have failed the second greatest commandment, and bring judgement upon ourselves.

As Christians, we should do our best to follow all of these directives, loving others and living clean lives in accordance to the scriptures.

Though we are imperfect, and that our own deeds are not the primary source of our salvation, we must keep on trying to “seek perfection” (Matthew 5:48), to please the Son, and more importantly, his Father, and to also lovingly encourage our Christian brothers and sisters to do the same, though our imperfections try to get the better of us (1 John 3:19-24, Romans 7:18-25).

Though God’s law might demand much for some, it is for this reason Yeshua came to bring us “rest”, for “his burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30).

We have been given the free gift of repentance for the forgiveness of ours sins and mistakes through Yeshua’s death, so long as we retain our faith and do our utmost to follow his voice.

By having faith that Yeshua is the Son of the all powerful God Yah, who died to pay for our sins, was raised from the dead by God, and by “doing what he says”, we attain the everlasting prize of eternal life, inheritence, and perfection in God’s Kingdom of the New Heavens and New Earth (John 5:24, John 11:25-27, Romans 10:9, Romans 4:24-25).

This is the “Good News” of our Lord, King, and Saviour, Yeshua, Son of the one True God Yah (YHWH).

All Scriptural References of the Salvation commands of Yeshua and his Apostles:

  • Matthew 5:3-11, 19-48, 6:1-23, 7:1-5, 7, 21-27: “…Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need, since the kingdom of the heavens belongs to them. Happy are those who mourn, since they will be comforted. Happy are the mild-tempered ones, since they will inherit the earth. Happy are those hungering and thirsting for righteousness, since they will be filled. Happy are the merciful, since they will be shown mercy. Happy are the pure in heart, since they will see God. Happy are the peaceable, since they will be called ‘sons of God.’ Happy are those who have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake, since the kingdom of the heavens belongs to them. “Happy are you when people reproach you and persecute you and lyingly say every sort of wicked thing against you for my sake. Rejoice and leap for joy, since your reward is great in the heavens; for in that way they persecuted the prophets prior to you.

Whoever, therefore, breaks one of these least commandments and teaches mankind to that effect, he will be called ‘least’ in relation to the kingdom of the heavens. As for anyone who does them and teaches them, this one will be called ‘great’ in relation to the kingdom of the heavens. For I say to you that if your righteousness does not abound more than that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter into the kingdom of the heavens.

You heard that it was said to those of ancient times, ‘You must not murder; but whoever commits a murder will be accountable to the court of justice.’ However, I say to you that everyone who continues wrathful with his brother will be accountable to the court of justice; but whoever addresses his brother with an unspeakable word of contempt will be accountable to the Supreme Court; whereas whoever says, ‘You despicable fool!’ will be liable to the fiery Gehenna. …. make your peace with your brother, and then, when you have come back, offer up your gift….

You heard that it was said, ‘You must not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that everyone that keeps on looking at a woman so as to have a passion for her has already committed adultery … Moreover it was said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.’ However, I say to you that everyone divorcing his wife, except on account of fornication, makes her a subject for adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery

Again you heard that it was said to those of ancient times, ‘You must not swear without performing, but you must pay your vows to YHWH.’ However, I say to you: Do not swear at all, neither by heaven, because it is God’s throne; nor by earth, because it is the footstool of his feet; nor by Jerusalem, because it is the city of the great King. Nor by your head must you swear, because you cannot turn one hair white or black. Just let your word Yes mean Yes, your No, No; for what is in excess of these is from the wicked one….

You heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye and tooth for tooth.’ However, I say to you: Do not resist him that is wicked; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other also to him. And if a person wants to go to court with you and get possession of your inner garment, let your outer garment also go to him; and if someone under authority impresses you into service for a mile, go with him two miles. Give to the one asking you, and do not turn away from one that wants to borrow from you without interest. You heard that it was said, ‘You must love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ However, I say to you: Continue to love your enemies and to pray for those persecuting you; ….

Take good care not to practice your righteousness in front of men in order to be observed by them; otherwise you will have no reward with your Father who is in the heavens. Hence when you go making gifts of mercy, do not blow a trumpet ahead of you, just as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be glorified by men. Truly I say to you, They are having their reward in full. But you, when making gifts of mercy, do not let your left hand know what your right is doing, that your gifts of mercy may be in secret; then your Father who is looking on in secret will repay you. Also, when you pray, you must not be as the hypocrites; because they like to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the broad ways to be visible to men. Truly I say to you, They are having their reward in full. You, however, when you pray, go into your private room and, after shutting your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; then your Father who looks on in secret will repay you.

But when praying, do not say the same things over and over again, just as the people of the nations do, for they imagine they will get a hearing for their use of many words. So, do not make yourselves like them, for God your Father knows what things you are needing before ever you ask him. you must pray, then, this way; “‘Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth. Give us today our bread for this day; and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the wicked one.’…

if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; whereas if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses….

When you are fasting, stop becoming sad-faced like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Truly I say to you, They are having their reward in full. But you, when fasting, grease your head and wash your face, that you may appear to be fasting, not to men, but to your Father who is in secrecy; then your Father who is looking on in secrecy will repay you….

Stop storing up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break in and steal. Rather, store up for yourselves treasures in heaven….

Stop judging that you may not be judged; for with what judgment you are judging, you will be judged; and with the measure that you are measuring out, they will measure out to you. Why, then, do you look at the straw in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the rafter in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Allow me to extract the straw from your eye’; when, look! a rafter is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First extract the rafter from your own eye, and then you will see clearly how to extract the straw from your brother’s eye

“All things, therefore, that you want men to do to you, you also must likewise do to them; this, in fact, is what the Law and the Prophets mean…

Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness. Therefore everyone that hears these sayings of mine and does them will be likened to a wise man, who built his house upon the rock-mass. And the rain poured down and the floods came and the winds blew and lashed against that house, but it did not cave in, for it had been founded upon the rock-mass. Furthermore, everyone hearing these sayings of mine and not doing them will be likened to a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand. And the rain poured down and the floods came and the winds blew and struck against that house and it caved in, and its collapse was great”.

  • Matthew 10:7-15: “As you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of the heavens has drawn near.’ Cure sick people, raise up dead persons, make lepers clean, expel demons. You received free, give free. Do not procure gold or silver or copper for your girdle purses, or a food pouch for the trip, or two undergarments, or sandals or a staff; for the worker deserves his food. Into whatever city or village you enter, search out who in it is deserving, and stay there until you leave. When you are entering into the house, greet the household; and if the house is deserving, let the peace you wish it come upon it; but if it is not deserving, let the peace from you return upon youWherever anyone does not take you in or listen to your words, on going out of that house or that city shake the dust off your feet. Truly I say to you, It will be more endurable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah on Judgment Day than for that city.

  • Matthew 19:16-23, 27-29:Now, look! a certain one came up to him and said: “Teacher, what good must I do in order to get everlasting life?” … “…If, though, you want to enter into life, observe the commandments continually.” He said to him: “Which ones?” Yeshua said: “Why, You must not murder, You must not commit adultery, You must not steal, You must not bear false witness, Honor your father and your mother, and, You must love your neighbor as yourself.” The young man said to him: “I have kept all these; what yet am I lacking?” Yeshua said to him: “If you want to be perfect, go sell your belongings and give to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven, and come be my follower.”… “Truly I say to you that it will be a difficult thing for a rich man to get into the kingdom of the heavens…  everyone that has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands for the sake of my name will receive many times more and will inherit everlasting life“.

  • Matthew 22:36-40: “”Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” He said to him: “‘You must love YHWH your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind.’ This is the greatest and first commandment. The second, like it, is this, ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments the whole Law hangs, and the Prophets.””

  • Matthew 28:19-20: “Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit (or; my name), teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you.

  • Mark 13:10, 13: “Also, in all the nations the good news has to be preached first…. and you will be objects of hatred by all people on account of my name. But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved“.

  • Luke 6:27-37: ““But I say to you who are listening, continue to love your enemies, to do good to those hating you, to bless those cursing you, to pray for those who are insulting you. To him that strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also; and from him that takes away your outer garment, do not withhold even the undergarment. Give to everyone asking you, and from the one taking your things away do not ask them back.

Continue becoming merciful, just as your Father is merciful. Moreover, stop judging, and you will by no means be judged; and stop condemning, you will by no means be condemned. Keep on setting free, and you will be set free. Practice giving, and people will give to you. They will pour into your laps a fine measure, pressed down, shaken together and overflowing. For with the measure that you are measuring out, they will measure out to you in return””.

  • Luke 9:23-26: “If anyone wants to come after me, let him disown himself and pick up his torture stake day after day and follow me continually. For whoever wants to save his soul will lose it; but whoever loses his soul for my sake is the one that will save it. Really, what does a man benefit himself if he gains the whole world but loses his own self or suffers damage? For whoever becomes ashamed of me and of my words, the Son of man will be ashamed of this one when he arrives in his glory and that of the Father and of the holy angels”.

  • Luke: 10:1, 8-11, 16: “After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come… “He that listens to you listens to me too. And he that disregards you disregards me too. Moreover, he that disregards me disregards also him that sent me forth”“.

  • Luke 10:25-28: “Now, look! a certain man versed in the Law rose up, to test him out, and said: “Teacher, by doing what shall I inherit everlasting life?” He said to him: “What is written in the Law? How do you read?” In answer he said: “‘You must love YHWH your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole strength and with your whole mind,’ and, ‘your neighbor as yourself.’” He said to him: “You answered correctly; ‘keep on doing this and you will get life.””.

  • Luke 12:2-5, 8-10: “… I say, then, to you, everyone that confesses union with me before men, the Son of man will also confess union with him before the angels of God. But he that disowns me before men will be disowned before the angels of God. And everyone that says a word against the Son of man, it will be forgiven him; but he that blasphemes against the holy spirit will not be forgiven“.

  • Luke 13:24: Exert yourselves vigorously to get in through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will seek to get in but will not be able”.

  • Luke 17:3-4: “Pay attention to yourselves. If your brother commits a sin give him a rebuke, and if he repents forgive him. Even if he sins seven times a day against you and he comes back to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him”.

  • Luke 20:22: “Is it lawful for us to pay head tax to Caesar or not?” But he detected their cunning and said to them: “Show me a de·narʹi·us. Whose image and inscription does it have?” They said: “Caesar’s.” He said to them: “By all means, then, pay back Caesar’s things to Caesar but God’s things to God.”

  • John 3:16-21, 36: “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life. For God sent forth his Son into the world, not for him to judge the world, but for the world to be saved through him. He that exercises faith in him is not to be judged. He that does not exercise faith has been judged already, because he has not exercised faith in the name of the only-begotten Son of God. Now this is the basis for judgment, that the light has come into the world but men have loved the darkness rather than the light, for their works were wicked. For he that practices vile things hates the light and does not come to the light, in order that his works may not be reproved. But he that does what is true comes to the light, in order that his works may be made manifest as having been worked in harmony with God… He that exercises faith in the Son has everlasting life; he that disobeys the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains upon him“.

  • John 5:23-24, 28-29: “…He that does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him. Most truly I say to you, he that hears my word and believes him that sent me has everlasting life, and he does not come into judgment but has passed over from death to lifeall those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment”.

  • John 6:35, 44-51, 53-58: “For this is the will of my Father, that everyone that beholds the Son and exercises faith in him should have everlasting life, and I will resurrect him at the last day… No man can come to me unless the Father, who sent me, draws him; and I will resurrect him in the last day…. Most truly I say to you, He that believes has everlasting life….

I am the bread of life. Your forefathers ate the manna in the wilderness and yet died. This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that anyone may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven; if anyone eats of this bread he will live forever; and, for a fact, the bread that I shall give is my flesh in behalf of the life of the world… Accordingly Yeshua said to them: “Most truly I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in yourselves. He that feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has everlasting life, and I shall resurrect him at the last day; for my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. He that feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood remains in union with me, and I in union with him. Just as the living Father sent me forth and I live because of the Father, he also that feeds on me, even that one will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. It is not as when you forefathers ate and yet died. He that feeds on this bread will live forever“.

  • John 8:23-24, 26-29: “… For if you do not believe that I am he, you will die in your sins.” Therefore they began to say to him: “Who are you?”… Yeshua said to them… “he that sent me is true, and the very things I heard from him I am speaking in the world.” They did not grasp that he was talking to them about the Father. Therefore Yeshua said: “When once you have lifted up the Son of man, then you will know that I am he, and that I do nothing of my own initiative; but just as the Father taught me I speak these things. And he that sent me is with me; he did not abandon me to myself, because I always do the things pleasing to him””.

  • John 10:7,9, 27-30: “Therefore Yeshua said again: “Most truly I say to you, I am the door of the sheep… I am the door; whoever enters through me will be saved, and he will go in and out and find pasturage… My sheep listen to my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. And I give them everlasting life, and they will by no means ever be destroyed, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. What my Father has given me is something greater than all other things, and no one can snatch them out of the hand of the Father. I and the Father are one””.

  • John 12:44-50: “However, Yeshua cried out and said: ‘He that puts faith in me puts faith, not in me only, but in him also that sent me; and he that beholds me beholds also him that sent me. I have come as a light into the world, in order that everyone putting faith in me may not remain in the darkness. But if anyone hears my sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I came, not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that disregards me and does not receive my sayings has one to judge him. The word that I have spoken is what will judge him in the last day; because I have not spoken out of my own impulse, but the Father himself who sent me has given me a commandment as to what to tell and what to speak. Also, I know that his commandment means everlasting life. Therefore the things I speak, just as the Father has told me them, so I speak them‘”.

  • John 17: 14-16: “I have given your word to them, but the world has hated them, because they are no part of the world, just as I am no part of the world. I do not request that you take them out of the world, but that you watch over them because of the wicked one. They are no part of the world, just as I am no part of the world”.

  • John 18:36: “Yeshua answered: “My Kingdom is no part of this world. If my Kingdom were part of this world, my attendants would have fought that I should not be handed over to the Jews. But as it is, my Kingdom is not from this source””.

  • John 15:12-17, 26-27: “This is my commandment, that you love one another just as I have loved you. No one has love greater than this, that someone should surrender his soul in behalf of his friends. You are my friends if you do what I am commanding you… and I appointed you to go on and keep bearing fruit and that your fruit should remain; in order that no matter what you ask the Father in my name he might give it to you. These things I command you, that you love one another

When the helper arrives that I will send you from the Father, the spirit of the truth, which proceeds from the Father, that one will bear witness about me; and you, in turn, are to bear witness, because you have been with me from when I began”.

  • Acts 2:38-42: “Peter said to them: “Repent, and let each one of you be baptized in the name of Yeshua [the] Anointed for forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the free gift of the holy spirit…. And they continued devoting themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to sharing with one another, to taking of meals and to prayers“.

  • Acts 10:42-43: “Also, he ordered us to preach to the people and to give a thorough witness that this is the One decreed by God to be judge of the living and the dead. To him all the prophets bear witness, that everyone putting faith in him gets forgiveness of sins through his name“.

  • Acts 15:28-29: “For the holy spirit and we ourselves have favored adding no further burden to you, except these necessary things; to keep abstaining from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication…”.

  • Acts 16:30-33: “…“Sirs, what must I do to get saved?” They said: “Believe on the Lord Yeshua and you will get saved, you and your household.” And they spoke the word of the Lord to him together with all those in his house. And he took them along in that hour of the night and bathed their stripes; and, one and all, he and his were baptized without delay.”

  • Acts 17:29-30: “Seeing, therefore, that we are the offspring of God, we ought not to imagine that the Divine Being is like gold or silver or stone, like something sculptured by the art and contrivance of man. True, God has overlooked the times of such ignorance, yet now he is telling mankind that they should all everywhere repent”

  • Acts 19:18-19: “And many of those who had become believers would come and confess and report their practices openly. Indeed, quite a number of those who practiced magical arts brought their books together and burned them up before everybody.”

  • Acts 22:16: “And now why are you delaying? Rise, get baptized and wash your sins away by your calling upon his name”.

  • Acts 4:19. 5:29, 24:16: “But in reply Peter and John said to them: “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, judge for yourselves. In answer Peter and the other apostles said: “We must obey God as ruler rather than men”. Because of this I always strive to maintain a clear conscience before God and men.”

  • Romans 1:22-25: “Although claiming they were wise, they became foolish and turned the glory of the incorruptible God into something like the image of corruptible man and birds and four-footed creatures and reptiles. Therefore, God, in keeping with the desires of their hearts, gave them up to uncleanness, so that their bodies might be dishonored among them. They exchanged the truth of God for the lie and venerated and rendered sacred service to the creation rather than the Creator, who is praised forever. Amen.”

  • Romans 1:29-32, 2:1-10: “…filled as they were with all unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, badness, being full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malicious disposition, being whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, insolent, haughty, self-assuming, inventors of injurious things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, false to agreements, having no natural affection, merciless.

Although these know full well the righteous decree of God, that those practicing such things are deserving of death, they not only keep on doing them but also consent with those practicing them. Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are, if you judge; for in the thing in which you judge another, you condemn yourself, inasmuch as you that judge practice the same things. Now we know that the judgment of God is, in accord with truth, against those who practice such things.

But do you have this idea, O man, while you judge those who practice such things and yet you do them, that you will escape the judgment of God? Or do you despise the riches of his kindness and forbearance and long-suffering, because you do not know that the kindly quality of God is trying to lead you to repentance?  But according to your hardness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath and of the revealing of God’s righteous judgment.

And he will render to each one according to his works:  everlasting life to those who are seeking glory and honor and incorruptibleness by endurance in work that is good; however, for those who are contentious and who disobey the truth but obey unrighteousness there will be wrath and anger, tribulation and distress, upon the soul of every man who works what is injurious… but glory and honor and peace for everyone who works what is good…”

  • Romans 6:1-14, 21-23: “Consequently, what shall we say? Shall we continue in sin, that undeserved kindness may abound? Never may that happen! …our old personality was impaled with him, that our sinful body might be made inactive, that we should no longer go on being slaves to sin.…. reckon yourselves to be dead indeed with reference to sin but living with reference to God by [the] A Anointed Yeshua. Therefore do not let sin continue to rule as king in your mortal bodies that you should obey their desires. Neither go on presenting your members to sin as weapons of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, also your members to God as weapons of righteousness. For sin must not be master over you, seeing that you are not under law but under undeserved kindness… For the wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by [the] Anointed Yeshua our Lord.”

  • Romans 8:12-13: “So, then, brothers, we are under obligation, not to the flesh to live in accord with the flesh;  for if you live in accord with the flesh you are sure to die; but if you put the practices of the body to death by the spirit, you will live“.

  • Romans 10:8:10: “But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your own mouth and in your own heart”; that is, the “word” of faith, which we are preaching. For if you publicly declare that ‘word in your own mouth,’ that Yeshua is Lord, and exercise faith in your heart that God raised him up from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one exercises faith for righteousness, but with the mouth one makes public declaration for salvation.”

  • Romans 12:9-21: “Let your love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is wicked, cling to what is good. In brotherly love have tender affection for one another. In showing honor to one another take the lead. Do not loiter at your business. Be aglow with the spirit. Slave for the Lord. Rejoice in the hope. Endure under tribulation. Persevere in prayer. Share with the holy ones according to their needs. Follow the course of hospitality.

Keep on blessing those who persecute; be blessing and do not be cursing. Rejoice with people who rejoice; weep with people who weep. Be minded the same way toward others as to yourselves; do not be minding lofty things, but be led along with the lowly things. Do not become wise in your own eyes. Return evil for evil to no one. Take into consideration what is fine from the viewpoint of all men.  If possible, as far as it depends upon you, be peaceable with all men. Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but yield place to the wrath; for it is written: “Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says YHWH” But, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by doing this you will heap fiery coals upon his head.” Do not let yourself be conquered by the evil, but keep conquering the evil with the good.”

  • Romans 13:1-10, 12-14: “Let every soul be in subjection to the superior authorities, for there is no authority except by God; the existing authorities stand placed in their relative positions by God. Therefore he who opposes the authority has taken a stand against the arrangement of God; those who have taken a stand against it will receive judgment to themselves. For those ruling are an object of fear, not to the good deed, but to the bad…. There is therefore compelling reason for you people to be in subjection, not only on account of that wrath but also on account of your conscience. For that is why you are also paying taxes; for they are God’s public servants constantly serving this very purpose. Render to all their dues, to him who calls for the tax, the tax; to him who calls for the tribute, the tribute; to him who calls for fear, such fear; to him who calls for honor, such honor.

Do not you people be owing anybody a single thing, except to love one another; for he that loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law.  For the law code, “You must not commit adultery, You must not murder, You must not steal, You must not covet,” and whatever other commandment there is, is summed up in this word, namely, “You must love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does not work evil to one’s neighbor; therefore love is the law’s fulfillment… Let us therefore put off the works belonging to darkness and let us put on the weapons of the light. As in the daytime let us walk decently, not in revelries and drunken bouts, not in illicit intercourse and loose conduct, not in strife and jealousy. But put on the Lord Yeshua [the] Anointed, and do not be planning ahead for the desires of the flesh.”

  • 1 Corinthians 6:9-11: “What! Do you not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom. And yet that is what some of you were. But you have been washed clean, but you have been sanctified, but you have been declared righteous in the name of our Lord Yeshua [the] Anointed and with the spirit of our God.”

  • 1 Corinthians 7:9-16, 25, 28, 36, 39: “…if they cannot exercise self-control, they should marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion. To the married people I give instructions, yet not I but the Lord, that a wife should not depart from her husband; but if she should actually depart, let her remain unmarried or else make up again with her husband; and a husband should not leave his wife…. Now about virgins: I have no command from the LordBut if you do marry, you have not sinned; and if a virgin marries, she has not sinned… If anyone is worried that he might not be acting honorably toward [a] virgin, and if his passions are too strong and he feels he ought, he should do as he wants. He is not sinning. They should get married.… A wife is bound during all the time her husband is alive. But if her husband should fall asleep in death, she is free to be married to whom she wants, only in the Lord…“.

  • 1 Corinthians 10:6-22: “Now these things became our examples, for us not to be persons desiring injurious things, even as they desired them. Neither become idolaters, as some of them did; just as it is written: “The people sat down to eat and drink, and they got up to have a good time.”

Neither let us practice fornication, as some of them committed fornication, only to fall, twenty-three thousand of them in one day. Neither let us put the Lord to the test, as some of them put him to the test, only to perish by the serpents. Neither be murmurers, just as some of them murmured, only to perish by the destroyer.

Therefore, my beloved ones, flee from idolatry.… I say that the things which the nations sacrifice they sacrifice to demons, and not to God; and I do not want you to become sharers with the demons. You cannot be drinking the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot be partaking of “the table of the Lord” and the table of demons. Or “are we inciting the Lord to jealousy”? We are not stronger than he is, are we?”

  • 1 Corinthians 11:23: “For I received from the Lord that which I also handed on to you, that the Lord Yeshua in the night in which he was going to be handed over took a loaf and, after giving thanks, he broke it and said: “This means my body which is in your behalf. Keep doing this in remembrance of me.” He did likewise respecting the cup also, after he had the evening meal, saying: “This cup means the new covenant by virtue of my blood. Keep doing this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For as often as you eat this loaf and drink this cup, you keep proclaiming the death of the Lord, until he arrives.”

  • 2 Corinthians 6:14-18: Do not become unevenly yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship do righteousness and lawlessness have? Or what sharing does light have with darkness? Further, what harmony is there between [the] Anointed and Belial? Or what portion does a faithful person have with an unbeliever? And what agreement does God’s temple have with idols? For we are a temple of a living God; just as God said: “I shall reside among them and walk among them, and I shall be their God, and they will be my people. Therefore get out from among them, and separate yourselves”, says YHWH, “and quit touching the unclean thing; and I will take you in. And I shall be a father to you, and you will be sons and daughters to me”, says YHWH the Almighty”.

  • Galatians 5:19-26: “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, and they are fornication, uncleanness, loose conduct, idolatry, practice of spiritism, enmities, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, contentions, divisions, sects, envies, drunken bouts, revelries, and things like these. As to these things I am forewarning you, the same way as I did forewarn you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s kingdom. On the other hand, the fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. Moreover, those who belong to [the] Anointed Yeshua impaled the flesh together with its passions and desires. If we are living by spirit, let us go on walking orderly also by spirit. Let us not become egotistical, stirring up competition with one another, envying one another.”

  • James 2:18-26: “Nevertheless, a certain one will say: “You have faith, and I have works. Show me your faith apart from the works, and I shall show you my faith by my works.” You believe there is one God, do you? You are doing quite well. And yet the demons believe and shudder. But do you care to know, O empty man, that faith apart from works is useless. Was not Abraham our father declared righteous by works after he had offered up Isaac his son upon the altar? You behold that his faith worked along with his works and by his works his faith was perfected, and the scripture was fulfilled which says: “Abraham put faith in YHWH, and it was counted to him as righteousness,” and he came to be called “YHWH’s friend”. You see that a man is to be declared righteous by works, and not by faith alone. In the same manner was not also Raʹhab the harlot declared righteous by works, after she had received the messengers hospitably and sent them out by another way? Indeed, as the body without spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead”.

  • Ephesians 2:8-9: “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast”.

  • Ephesians 4:17-31: “This, therefore, I say and bear witness to in the Lord, that you no longer go on walking just as the nations also walk in the unprofitableness of their minds, while they are in darkness mentally, and alienated from the life that belongs to God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the insensibility of their hearts. Having come to be past all moral sense, they gave themselves over to loose conduct to work uncleanness of every sort with greediness. But you did not learn the Anointed to be so, provided, indeed, that you heard him and were taught by means of him, just as truth is in Yeshua, that you should put away the old personality which conforms to your former course of conduct and which is being corrupted according to his deceptive desires; but that you should be made new in the force actuating your mind, and should put on the new personality which was created according to God’s will in true righteousness and loyalty. Wherefore, now that you have put away falsehood, speak truth each one of you with his neighbor, because we are members belonging to one another.

Be wrathful, and yet do not sin; let the sun not set with you in a provoked state, neither allow place for the Devil. Let the stealer steal no more, but rather let him do hard work, doing with his hands what is good work, that he may have something to distribute to someone in needLet a rotten saying not proceed out of your mouth, but whatever saying is good for building up as the need may be, that it may impart what is favorable to the hearers.

Also, do not be grieving God’s holy spirit, with which you have been sealed for a day of releasing by ransom. Let all malicious bitterness and anger and wrath and screaming and abusive speech be taken away from you along with all badness. But become kind to one another, tenderly compassionate, freely forgiving one another just as God also by [the] Anointed freely forgave you”.

  • Ephesians 5:3-33, 6:1-9: Let fornication and uncleanness of every sort or greediness not even be mentioned among you, just as it befits holy people; neither shameful conduct nor foolish talking nor obscene jesting, things which are not becoming, but rather the giving of thanks. For you know this, recognizing it for yourselves, that no fornicator or unclean person or greedy person—which means being an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of the Anointed and of God. Let no man deceive you with empty words, for because of the aforesaid things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not become partakers with them;  for you were once darkness, but you are now light in connection with the Lord. Go on walking as children of light, for the fruitage of the light consists of every sort of goodness and righteousness and truth. Keep on making sure of what is acceptable to the Lord; and quit sharing with them in the unfruitful works that belong to the darkness, but, rather, even be reproving them, for the things that take place in secret by them it is shameful even to relate…..

Also, do not be getting drunk with wine, in which there is debauchery, but keep getting filled with spirit, speaking to yourselves with psalms and praises to God and spiritual songs, singing and accompanying yourselves with music in your hearts to the Lord, in the name of our Lord Yeshua [the] Anointed giving thanks always for all things to our God and Father

Be in subjection to one another in fear of [the] Anointed [One]. Let wives be in subjection to their husbands as to the Lord, because a husband is head of his wife as the Anointed also is head of the congregation, he being a savior of this body. In fact, as the congregation is in subjection to the Anointed, so let wives also be to their husbands in everything. Husbands, continue loving your wives, just as the Anointed also loved the congregation and delivered up himself for it, that he might sanctify it, cleansing it with the bath of water by means of the word, that he might present the congregation to himself in its splendor, not having a spot or a wrinkle or any of such things, but that it should be holy and without blemish.

In this way husbands ought to be loving their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself, for no man ever hated his own flesh; but he feeds and cherishes it, as the Anointed also does the congregation, because we are members of his body. “For this reason a man will leave his father and his mother and he will stick to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” This sacred secret is great.

Now I am speaking with respect to [the] Anointed and the congregation. Nevertheless, also, let each one of you individually so love his wife as he does himself; on the other hand, the wife should have deep respect for her husband. Children, be obedient to your parents in union with the Lord, for this is righteous: “Honor your father and your mother”; which is the first command with a promise: “That it may go well with you and you may endure a long time on the earth.” And you, fathers, do not be irritating your children, but go on bringing them up in the discipline and mental-regulating of the Lord. You slaves, be obedient to those who are your masters in a fleshly sense, with fear and trembling in the sincerity of your hearts, as to the Anointed, not by way of eye-service as men pleasers, but as [the] Anointed’s slaves, doing the will of God whole-souled. Be slaves with good inclinations, as to the Lord, and not to men, for you know that each one, whatever good he may do, will receive this back from the Lord, whether he be slave or freeman. Also, you masters, keep doing the same things to them, letting up on the threatening, for you know that the Master of both them and you is in the heavens, and there is no partiality with him”.

  • 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8: “… For this is what God wills, the sanctifying of you, that you abstain from fornication; that each one of you should know how to get possession of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in covetous sexual appetite such as also those nations have which do not know God; that no one go to the point of harming and encroach upon the rights of his brother in this matter, because the Lord is one who exacts punishment for all these things, just as we told you beforehand and also gave you a thorough witness. For God called us, not with allowance for uncleanness, but in connection with sanctification. So, then, the man that shows disregard is disregarding, not man, but God, who puts his holy spirit in you.”

  • 2 Thessalonians 1:6-10: “This takes into account that it is righteous on God’s part to repay tribulation to those who make tribulation for you, but, to you who suffer tribulation, relief along with us at the revelation of the Lord Yeshua from heaven with his powerful angels in a flaming fire, as he brings vengeance upon those who do not know God and those who do not obey the good news about our Lord Yeshua. These very ones will undergo the judicial punishment of everlasting destruction from before the Lord and from the glory of his strength, at the time he comes to be glorified in connection with his holy ones and to be regarded in that day with wonder in connection with all those who exercised faith, because the witness we gave met with faith among you.”

  • 2 Thessalonians 2:15: “…So, then, brothers, stand firm and maintain your hold on the traditions that you were taught, whether it was through a verbal message or through a letter of ours”.

  • Titus 3:1: “Continue reminding them to be in subjection and to be obedient to governments and authorities, to be ready for every good work”.

  • 1 Timothy 2:3-4: “This is fine and acceptable in the sight of our Savior, God, whose will is that all sorts of people should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth.”

  • 1 Timothy 2:8-10: “Therefore I desire that in every place the men carry on prayer, lifting up loyal hands, apart from wrath and debates. Likewise I desire the women to adorn themselves in well-arranged dress, with modesty and soundness of mind, not with styles of hair braiding and gold or pearls or very expensive garb, but in the way that befits women professing to reverence God, namely, through good works“.

  • 1 Timothy 4:1-7: “However, the inspired utterance says definitely that in later periods of time some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to misleading inspired utterances and teachings of demons, by the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, marked in their conscience as with a branding iron; forbidding to marry, commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be partaken of with thanksgiving by those who have faith and accurately know the truth. The reason for this is that every creation of God is fine, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, for it is sanctified through God’s word and prayer over it. By giving these advices to the brothers you will be a fine minister of [the] Anointed Yeshua, one nourished with the words of the faith and of the fine teaching which you have followed closely. But turn down the false stories which violate what is holy and which old women tell. On the other hand, be training yourself with godly devotion as your aim”.

  • 1 Timothy 6:6-18: “To be sure, it is a means of great gain, this godly devotion along with self-sufficiency. For we have brought nothing into the world, and neither can we carry anything out. So, having sustenance and covering, we shall be content with these things.

However, those who are determined to be rich fall into temptation and a snare and many senseless and hurtful desires, which plunge men into destruction and ruin. For the love of money is a root of all sorts of injurious things, and by reaching out for this love some have been led astray from the faith and have stabbed themselves all over with many pains. However, you, O man of God, flee from these things. But pursue righteousness, godly devotion, faith, love, endurance, mildness of temper.

Fight the fine fight of the faith, get a firm hold on the everlasting life for which you were called and you offered the fine public declaration in front of many witnesses. In the sight of God, who preserves all things alive, and of [the] Anointed Yeshua, who as a witness made the fine public declaration before Pontius Pilate, I give you orders that you observe the commandment in a spotless and irreprehensible way until the manifestation of our Lord Yeshua [the] Anointed… Give orders to those who are rich in the present system of things not to be high-minded, and to rest their hope, not on uncertain riches, but on God, who furnishes us all things richly for our enjoyment; to work at good, to be rich in fine works, to be liberal, ready to share, safely treasuring up for themselves a fine foundation for the future, in order that they may get a firm hold on the real life”.

  • 2 Timothy 4:1-5: I solemnly charge you before God and [the] Anointed Yeshua, who is destined to judge the living and the dead, and by his manifestation and his kingdom, preach the word, be at it urgently in favorable season, in troublesome season, reprove, reprimand, exhort, with all long-suffering and art of teaching. For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

  • 1 Peter 2:13-23: “For the Lord’s sake subject yourselves to every human creation: whether to a king as being superior or to governors as being sent by him to inflict punishment on evildoers but to praise doers of good. For so the will of God is, that by doing good you may muzzle the ignorant talk of the unreasonable men.

Be as free people, and yet holding your freedom, not as a blind for badness, but as slaves of God. Honor men of all sorts, have love for the whole association of brothers, be in fear of God, have honor for the king. Let house servants be in subjection to their owners with all due fear, not only to the good and reasonable, but also to those hard to please… In fact, to this course you were called, because even [the] Anointed [One] suffered for you, leaving you a model for you to follow his steps closely.  He committed no sin, nor was deception found in his mouth. When he was being reviled, he did not go reviling in return. When he was suffering, he did not go threatening, but kept on committing himself to the one who judges righteously”.

  • 1 Peter 3:21-22: “That which corresponds to this is also now saving you, namely, baptism, (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the request made to God for a good conscience,) through the resurrection of Yeshua [the] Anointed. He is at God’s right hand, for he went his way to heaven; and angels and authorities and powers were made subject to him.”

  • Hebrews 10: 23-25: “Let us hold firmly the public declaration of our hope without wavering, for the one who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another so as to incite to love and fine works, not forsaking our meeting together, as some have the custom, but encouraging one another, and all the more so as you see the day drawing near.”

  • 1 John 2:3-5, 8, 10, 15-17:
“This is how we can be sure that we’ve come to know him; If we keep on obeying his commandments! So anyone who says, ‘Now I know him,’ but doesn’t obey his commandments, ]he] is a liar and the truth isn’t in him. However, God’s love has been made perfect in all those who really do as they’ve been told. And that’s how we know whether we’re really in him. For whoever says that he’s in [Yeshua] is obligated to keep on walking in the same path that [Yeshua] walked.…

However, now I’m also writing a new commandment for youOnly those who love their brothers are in the light, so they don’t go stumbling about. Meanwhile, those who dislike their brothers are still in darkness. They’re walking around in the dark without any idea of where they’re going, because the darkness has left them blind….

Don’t love the world or anything in [it]. For if anyone loves the world, there’s no love of the Father in him! Because, nothing in this world – its fleshly desires, its lusting after the things we can see, and its trusting that we can each provide for ourselves – comes from the Father. Rather all of this comes from the world… And the world is passing away with all of its desires! However, those who do God’s Will remain throughout the age
    .

  • 1 John 3:13-15,19-24: “…He who does not love remains in death. Everyone who hates his brother is a manslayer, and you know that no manslayer has everlasting life remaining in him…. Indeed, this is his commandment, that we have faith in the name of his Son Yeshua [the] Anointed and be loving one another, just as he gave us commandment. Moreover, he who observes his commandments remains in union with him, and he in union with such one; and by this we gain the knowledge that he is remaining in union with us, owing to the spirit which he gave us.”

  • 1 John 5:10-13: “The person putting his faith in the Son of God has the witness given in his own case. The person not having faith in God has made him a liar, because he has not put his faith in the witness given, which God as witness has given concerning his Son. And this is the witness given, that God gave us everlasting life, and this life is in his Son. He that has the Son has this life; he that does not have the Son of God does not have this life. I write you these things that you may know that you have life everlasting, you who put your faith in the name of the Son of God“.

  • Revelation 21:4-8: “…. Anyone conquering will inherit these things, and I shall be his God and he will be my son. But as for the cowards and those without faith and those who are disgusting in their filth and murderers and fornicators and those practicing spiritism and idolaters and all the liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulphur. This means the second death.

  • Revealtion 22:8-9: “…When I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing me these things. But he tells me: “Be careful! Do not do that! I am only a fellow slave of you and of your brothers the prophets and of those observing the words of this scroll. Worship God“.
